We’re all trying to figure out how to live authentically. Today I’m vulnerably sharing more than usual about what’s been up with me. I’m usually pretty open with you all, but today I’m taking it a step further by sharing some of the big changes I’ve been handling. Life is full of surprises and whether you’ve been following my journey for a while or you’re just tuning in, I hope my story can show you that none of us are alone in our struggle toward authenticity.
Life is Full of Surprises
Change is hard, right? It’s even tougher when it’s not on your terms. About eight years ago, I found myself starting a consulting business—not out of passion, but out of necessity. After being laid off and feeling a bit lost, I jumped into something new because I had to keep moving. Back then, I didn’t really know my worth, and I definitely didn’t know how to fight for it. Every job I ever had told me I expected too much or that my standards were too high. Sound familiar?
Why is Personal Growth Important?
Fast forward a bit, and that drive to always deliver top-notch work with zero boundaries led me down a pretty dark path. I’m talking full-on anxiety, depression, and even a couple of hospital visits due to panic attacks. It was brutal. This whole mess forced me to start dealing with not just the surface issues but to manage and see the benefits of healing from trauma. And being gay, I had been hiding a big part of who I was for way too long, which only added to the stress.
How to Embrace Change
Here’s the thing—I love growth. I thrive on it. And eventually, I realized that the business I started wasn’t really feeding my soul. It was successful, sure—I mean, it got to the point where it was bringing in a million a year, which is insane to think about. But money wasn’t enough. I needed to align my work with my true values. So, I started shifting gears, working with a personal branding team, and even began writing a book.
Letting Go Of The Past
Letting go of something stable and diving into the unknown was scary as hell. But it was necessary. These days, I’m all about helping others grow, especially other high achievers who might be stuck like I was. Transitioning out of my old business meant I could focus on what really matters to me—helping people like you navigate your own changes and challenges.
What’s Next? How to Live Authentically
As I build this new chapter, I’m not just creating a business—I’m crafting a life. A life where personal and professional growth go hand in hand. I’m here to tell you that it’s okay to change your path. It’s okay to want more, and it’s definitely okay to go after it, even if it means stepping into the unknown.
